About Me

Hi, my name is Andrejs Kirma and for some years now I have worked for a list of companies of various sizes doing designs for them - websites, logos, illustrations, business cards and everything in between.

I created PictureShape.com to break away from jumping around between disciplines to perfect a specific area of design. As it happens, it turned out to be this - making pictures artistic and unique in their own right.

Growing up I never thought I was or ever could be the “creative type”. It was by a coincidence that I started doing design in the first place.

I did MEME pictures of my friends just for the fun of it. This lead me to becoming interested in illustration, typography, icons, user interfaces, 3D design and all other aspects of visual expression.

It might be that out of this experience - becoming a what people often call a “creative person” I came to believe that all of us have creativity in us. For PictureShape.com it might seem that all you have to do is to send in the picture. But if you think about it - it is the foundation of everything I do with it afterwards. It is like an artistic collaboration between me and you.

It turned out I can be creative, it turns out you can be too.

Cheers,
Andrejs Kirma
